Cocoa is THE superfood of the Incas, Mayas and Aztecs. The raw cocoa bean is one of the most fascinating superfoods given to us by mother nature. The special taste of raw cocoa and its phenomenal properties as a source of nutrition for body, mind and spirit are what make it so unique. "The food of the gods" is a free translation of the word cocoa. Legend and myths have been a part of the history of cocoa for time immemorial! Cocoa is one of the best sources of magnesium and is rich in antioxidants.The normal roasting temperatures of industrially processed cocoa beans are between 100°C and 140°C. Keimling cocoa products are dried gently at a maximum temperature of 45°C. The variety of cocoa we use "Nacional Arriba Fino de Aroma" is reputed to be the one with the most pleasant aroma. The dark brown colour and slightly herb bitter taste of the nibs – with a hint of blossom and fruit aroma – make this delicious raw food gift of nature both unique and versatile at the same time.
