Pineapple conjures up a breath of the exotic and luxurious. The sweet and
refreshing fruit was discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1493 on the island of
Guadeloupe, although its true origins are said to be in the tropics of South
America. The natives there call it "nana meant" (delicious fruit). Not only does
pineapple taste delicious and refreshing, it also contains a large number of
vitamins and enzymes. It is particularly rich in the enzymes bromelin, amylase,
peroxidase and invertase as well as many mineral nutrients such as potassium,
iron, iodine, fluorine and zinc.
Not only is our new line "Sugar Loaf" particularly fruity, fresh and
aromatically sweet, it also melts in the mouth because it contains no fibres. A
fine, refreshing tanginess accompanies the sweet aromatic taste of our dried
pineapple slices in raw food quality. Dried raw slices of pineapple make healthy
snacks and are ideal for creating fruity desserts. Added to your daily muesli
they give an exotic touch to every breakfast.
